The Chamber organises a number of conferences and seminars to provide updates on the PNG mining and petroleum industry, to showcase technical initiates, to discuss issues and challenges, and to promote the sectors within PNG and overseas.
Mining and Petroleum Seminars
The Mining and Petroleum Seminars are annual events designed to update delegates on current activities in the mining and petroleum industry and issues affecting resource development.
PNG Geology, Exploration and Mining (GEM) Conference
GEM is PNG’s Premier Mining Conference and is held every three-four years. The event is organised with the support of the Port Moresby Branch of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Mineral Resources Authority.
Community Affairs Conference (CAC)
The Community Affairs Conference is held every three years. It provides a forum for Community Relations personnel in the mining and petroleum industry to convene and discuss issues and initiatives and to network and exchange ideas.
Mining and Petroleum Investment Conference, Sydney
This is a biennial event that showcases the Papua New Guinea mining and petroleum industry to the international finance and investment sectors. The conference provides up-to-date information about the industry, including a comprehensive analysis of the major projects, issues and events currently dominating the industry.
The conference is designed to stimulate investment in the Papua New Guinea mining and petroleum sector.
The Chamber has hosted nine successful Mining and Petroleum Investment Conferences.
The 10th investment conference is scheduled for 1-3 December 2008.
